Know the names — Max Weiss, Mateo Cano, and Trevor Pegg. All 3 INTER CT FC players netted goals this past Sunday for our combined U19 USL Academy Teams. A significant result in context, this was one of the group's final Pre-Season "friendlies" before the start of the Academy season.
The U19 USL Academy are hoping to emulate last season’s successful campaign. In their inaugural season, our boys ended up competing at the National Championships in Tampa Bay, FL in December. There, they came 7th in the nation.
As we enter the start of the season, new & returning INTER talent are ready to compete at one of the highest levels offered in their age bracket. Cano & Pegg have joined the Academy squad from our U19 NAC and '05 NAC teams respectively. Meanwhile, Weiss — our 2021 All-American Award Recipient — has retained his place.
Sunday’s game against USL Part-Time Academy team Westchester Flames proved an easy, but useful affair — allowing us to sharpen our gameplay & enhance our attacking prowess in the final third.
Adding to an incredible scoreline, the above INTER players managed to find the net on 5 occasions throughout the game: Pegg scored 2, Weiss scored 2, and Cano scored one.
The USL Academy Team look forward to their first league game of the season when they travel to Albany, NY for a game against Black Watch.
